its nothing to do with "vw stuff" mine has comma brand g12 coolant there other types on there also which other manufactures use g30 g40 that bs too? it has differant blends of differant addatives in it, is engine oil all the same and a load of bs? no you guys put what you want in your car end of the day its your car and you can put what you want in there, but you ask any garage (not a vw one) and ask them what coolant they would put you your car i garantee it not any old sh*t they can find they will use the right coolant for the right car

Don't get too excited mate, its just a car forum.

Yes you are right about the mixing, but look at it this way, before the art of commerce was established, corn flakes were made by Kellogs, and only John Smiths sold bitter.  Anti-freeze is anti-freeze, it lowers the freezing point of the water in your cooling system, that is the prime objective and you should not be fooled into thinking that you 'have' to use a certain product, when the cheaper alternative will do.

I was told not to use normal anti freeze, so you should really use G12.

i couldnt care less mate tbh

i aint getting excited about anything mearly pointing out
Anti-freeze aint anti-freeze when is has other components in that that can react with each other and and slud up your rad but you must be right am im wrong when i have seen it first hand a fair few times

yes the base line of it it the same "anti freeze"

g12 in other brands is as cheap as any other

More info here

I have never really thought about anything in this thread - i just use the vw stuff as its only £8?

If it stops the water freezing it good in my book
