can you help tried everything
« on: 31 January 2012, 16:22 »
Hi,

Can you help me it is driving me insane.  Car in question is a 2002 VW Golf GTI 2002 150 BHP.

When I drive on an average road all bumps are bing exaggerated through the whole car, it feels like it is from the rear of the car.  That being said I have replaced the rear mountings, rear shocks and done the rear beam bushes but still have this infuriating problem.  Can anyone make any suggestions as to possible or likely culprits as I have spent loads of money and still have the problem

Tyre pressures?

I wish it was this... they are at 30 psi

I guess the best example of the symptoms is like sitting in a go kart with no suspension and feeling each bump

Shocks

had new Bilstein B4 Rear Shocks put on.  anyone think it could be the wishbone bushes transmitting vibrations to the rear??

well that is interesting, but I'd say it is more like pushing a shopping trolley over uneven pavements!

I called up the stealers and booked it in...  Let them to diagnose the problem and fix if cheap (unlikely) will mention tightening of the bushes...

Will revert back on Friday if anyone is interested to know the VW diagnosis.
