Induction kit?
« on: 30 January 2012, 12:56 »
Hi all,

Just after some information on induction kits for my mk4 gti 2L 8v, is it worth using an induction kit? or is it just as good to use a panel filter?

Cheers

you wownt see any real performance gains from either, personally ide just use standard or a pannel filter because its cheeper than buying an induction kit, pipework, sheild from hot air/water splashing up from road ect pluss takes 2 mins to put panel filter in there rather than a hour or so for induction kit.

Stick with a panel filter.

If you had a turbo id say go for induction kit for noise, but as you have a 2.slow then stick with panel

like they said. you will not notice and power difference. maybe get a little whoosh noise but its alot of money to spend just for the sound. pannel is your best bet!

Agreed - but the bits from ebay and you are looking less than a panel filter.
I got a piece of ali tube about 10" long with a slight bend (about £10)
A filter (about £10)
a silicone joiner (about £3)
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)
