Help Please!
« on: 29 January 2012, 13:29 »
Two things, first off my 1.8t AGU has a Atmospheric Dump Valve on, so I've picked up a standard valve of a breaking 1.8t to replace it with until I can afford a forge one.
However I can't see how the hell to replace it?
The Dump valve only has 2 pipes off it, a big one and then a small one, really small looks like a wire.
But the recirc valve has two bigger outlets perpendicular to each other and then a little outlet on the top.
I probably sound really thick now lol, but I'm stumped!

Second, my car keeps dropping boost from 11 to about 6 after 4000 rpm and judders a bit.
I've got a MAF code coming up so I unplugged the MAF sensor and it ran fine with no juddering, but it was only boosting to 3psi but held this up to the red line and ran really smooth.
Advice please! Lol.

Thanks, but I've just managed to fit it, turns out the hole had been blocked off but I've found how to do it after staring at the engine bay for an hour.
It's now making a fluttering sound instead of the blow off noise it was before, is that right?

It's still losing boost at 4000ish rpm though  :undecided:

either the DV is knackered or the little vac hose to the top of it has a split in it.

technically they're both vac/boost hoses, but the one you're interested in is the little thin one that goes to the top of the DV

The hose you're talking about on mine ends up at a T splitter thing, and goes off in two directions.  :undecided:
