Just think too, back then a 2.8VR6 Golf MKIII only made 172bhp/173lbft with a top speed of 139mph and a 0-60mph of 7.5 seconds.

Still not as fast as a Stock 1.4 Polo GTI is today!! :evil:
didnt they go backwards tho as the figures quoted for a 1.8 16v mk2 had top speed of 139mph, i know it had quoted 139bhp as standard?  :huh:
