If a mk4 was muching gearbox's, im talkin a new1 every 500-1000 miles.. What do u think would be wrong with it?
with these mods:
force induction kit
full miltek exhaust with removable cat section
remaped
around 200bhp

second hand gearbox's but surely they should last longer than that?

seen it once .Go to a better place.it looked new but was a recon done bad. You can tell by the fluid that comes out of it, black as hell.

AGU 1.8T. Mods done: R32 front bumper, turborev smic, ngk platinum spark plugs, uprated pancake pipe, demon motorsport boost hoses, forge 007 dv, forge engine cover, r-tec stage 1 map ,home made cold airfilter ,run on 98 ron fuel and castrol edge 0w 40 oil. Advanti racing alloys.

if its second hand how fitted it.Clutch can cause it ,if its on its way out.

well it all depends on what the condition of the gearboxes were like when you brought them. id say you've just been unlucky, where as if they were refurbished units then id say its the company's fault who put them together.

I havent changed it yet but the previous owner had changed it twice and i fear it is happening again, knowing him it probably was done wrong lol

What are the symptoms of the failures?
Are you confident they have been the correct gearboxes for that engine type? Silly question - Is it possible the lower spec might have been fitted?
I'd also consider the flywheel as a potential cause. It could be sending judder/vibrations through the input shaft of the box.
