Where the hell is my coolant temp sensor?

ive got a 1.6 16v golf, im sure its the same engine, take off the top cover, its on the right hand side, mine was green and it has a c clip keeping it on. If you want me to take a pic let me know and i will take the cover off and show you.

yeah swapped it for the bora in my sig pic. everything is sweet on it apart from this bloody heater issue.

nice swap man, yeah mine went recently. stopped my car from starting after short journeys! did my head in, cost bout £35 from vw and a 5 min fix

im not having any trouble with mine like that. my temp stays at 90 spot on all the time. but have tried everything els to get my heater to blow hot air and thats the only thing ni havnt tried.

The temperature sensor wont have anything to do with it, I feel. What exactly is the heater issue ?

as above, temp sensor has no effect on the heaters

if the water going in to the matrix is hot, most probable cause is a knackered flap motor on the blower housing behind the dash. vagcom will reveal more..

it has a flap motor?
on mine when i turn the heat dial i can feel and hear a diferance in blower power and i can hear the flap flap over. also it get a tiny bit warmer than cold when i put the heater on. is it not a cable as it feels like its cable operated.
