If its burning oil it could be valve seals or Rings.
Or it could be the head....

Does it over heat?
Is the oil/water full of Mayo?
Does it run ok?
Does it sound tappety?

That's just my guess, you need to check things like compression/cooling etc to be sure on the fault.
At a garage if you supplied a recon head and all the bits you are looking at around £200, and £200 in parts.
A good engine could be had for around £200 and a bit more to fit

Grey smoke is mixture / not running right, oil being burnt is blue so do the basics like check air filter and plugs,

Really the op needs to tell us what it smells of,  also given it runs well I would not jump to mixture being the fault.
I stand to be corrected though, maybe a picture of the smoke would help in diagnosis

Indeed but smoke does not always mean oil being burnt even more so when it is grey.

Quite right, grey/white smoke can indicate head faults or major overfueling but the op said it was running ok.

The pitfalls of internet diagnosis..........
