Do you guys have any tyre recommendations for XC with a little downhill?

MAXXIS are quite good but I'm still using my original tyres. Good enough on the whole although a little heavy in rolling resistance.

Maxxis are the ones you want (i'd get a 2.25). I always find they are very well priced.
My friend loves his high roller for the rear, although it more of a downhill tyre.
I quite liked the Crossmark myself. I am currently running a maxxis aspen (26x2.25) on my hardtail. Mainly use it over hard compact and some lose gravel. still gives me enough grip on loose terrain while having limited rolling resistance when you get to tarmac.

Hi guys, done a bit of biking and looking at buying my first bike, got the opportunity to buy a Specialized Hardrock 2010 for £120 from a friend, is this a good buy for the price he's asking? I like the bike and it's a good fit for me and is in decent condition? Please somebody help?  :undecided:

Is it the disc brake version? The go for £350 new on the 2012/13 models with better parts so depends on what you want to use it for. If its for XC stuff and its not got the disc brakes I'd walk away for that money, although you could easily add some Avid Juicy 3s from eBay for £60 http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=321150721799
