In the very early stages of planning a 200mile Coast to Coast... could be interesting

Had a go on a trek carbon dh bike with bos suspension at the weekend, about 8k's worth, made my tracer feel a bit sh!t

Forest of dean was great, did all the tracks but spent most time going down sheep skull. Loving the uplift!

Sounds great, need to go to a place with an uplift... just to make sure I properly destroy my bike one weekend

its worth the money, we started riding at midday and still got in 12 runs, plus we weren't knackered from the push up!

My local uplift has been out of commission due to snow and ice for the two months... getting the itch now!  There hasnt been that much snow, but as soon as it takes a few days to melf off forest roads it takes out the next proposed uplift dates!

Sam, 200 miles is a long way! how long are you planning to take?

4 days, but because one of my mates is on the wrong side of fit and struggles to go an hour without a joint we may be doing 4 trail centres in 4 days instead now

What kind of travel/type of riding are you looking to do?  Lockouts are just down to fork and shock models but available for a range of bike styles, most forks and shocks can be firmed up to some degree for climbing on typical trail bikes.

Have a shifty on ebay and pinkbike etc to see what your money can get you. Should be able to get something pretty nice second hand for that
