Cheeky 12 miles at a trail centre after work tonight with my new lights.... held on mainly by cable ties. £15 helmet, £30 lights, 10p cable ties = fun times

The entire world is a Money Pit, you just have to pick yours.

My bike keeps gear stripping (as me and my mates call it)
Top gear going up hill and the chain will go slack and maybe jump a gear.

Had a quick look this morning and can see on the 5th rear cog their's a bent tooth.
Thinking chain may have stretched also? Bikes not even a year old!!!

Will add pics on me lunch break

could be quite a few things, obviously the bent tooth wont help, but if you're going up hill on a large sproket then you're going to have move than one tooth in contact with the chain.

I'd say it's the rear mech; cables stretch and if it's slack then the mech going to want to shift down to the next sprocket causing the chain to skip and probably the cause of the broken tooth too.

The park tool site has loads of information and anyone serious about cycling should know how to look after their machine.

Chain stretch after a year is unlikely but depends on how many miles you've done in the year and if the chains got caught and locked up.

Cheers, will have a look when home.

Do 10 miles a week every week.

Didnt.think of the gear mech 2bh!

TBH the shop you bought it from should have serviced the bike after 1 month to 6 weeks to account for this and it's one of those things that always needs slight adjustments.

You should be getting at least 1000 miles from a chain but again it depends how well you maintain it.

Buy some base layers or a lightweight jacket

I was riding last winter in a base layer and a t-shirt in -10! Man up or ride faster

That will be fine, water proof and wind proof so will keep heat in. Anyway thought you was going to Oz soon? Ill be riding in a G-string over there :lipsrsealed:
