Bit gutted.  I've found out that to upgrade my GT to disc brakes I would have to:

* Get a disc brake kit, so levers, pistons, rotors etc etc
* Get a new back rim
* Get a new cassette for back wheel
* New gear mech for the back

It's way too much work just to upgrade the brakes  :sad:

Standard brakes are ok arnt they? Unless you have been remapped  :grin:

Even so it's a lot of money when the bike only cost £70 technically  :undecided:

I was looking at these though - http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1022485/

But as a I say to fit them I need rotors.  to fit rotors I need a new hub.  the effort replacing the hub I should get get a whole rim.  If I get a new rim my cassette won't go onto it so I need a new one.  If I get a new cassette I near a new rear mech.

I guess for now I'd be better of just enjoying it as it is  :smiley:
