IMO no one should be able to lift that much. Well, people like Ronnie Coleman and those kinds of people are crazy. Why on earth would you ever need to lift 400kg? Bloody stupid if you ask me.

Benching more than 100kg is excessive and unnecessary.

Lift girls above your head ofc

how many 100kg girls have you been with?

I was in Ikea the other day on my own and wanted to buy some shelves until I saw how heavy the box was. Waited till I could get some friends to help me carry it.

they do get obsessive, but i wouldnt say crazy

100kg, wouldnt say thats excessive, 200 maybe.

gearbox, id say prob weighs about 50-60kg?

id love to try that kind of training but i KNOW id injure myself, if i can manage it in a smith machine then i can do it anywhere

Thats not really true, theres nothing really good about a Smith Machine. It is un-natural to push in a perfect straight plane. If you want to bench and are worried about being spotted then use DB's. Squats should always been done in a squat rack and not on a smith, purely because of the technique used to squat correctly. The smith forces you to use bad posture.. Shoulder press is the same, it can be done with DB's.

Woah! That's mental. While you may be strong as an ox, does all the weight lifting have a detrimental effect on your body or do you feel fit as a fiddle? Do weight lifters suffer from back problems, etc. later in life?

I've just started this stuff, and can say that it is killing me.

My entire body has been ripped to shreds...

It does make a few things more fun, anything from 60 - 90kg you can bounce around for quite a bit.
