do i need ecu to match with transponder and key ? gti 8v

hey does any 1 know if i need to buy another ecu to match with the  2nd hand transponder and key i am buying on my golf gti 8v 1996 ?

PRob be easier if you got yourself the complete kit,ecu,transpoder,ring leader,and key.if you have ready changed barrel and key then just swap chips in keys.can be had on ebay for about 100.00 also pretty sure some chap on here had a complete setup for sale

Or you could just buy any immob ecu, get your own key and using vag tacho and vagcom pair them up.

Or you could get the immobiliser removed from the ecu. Then just get a new key cut.

i have found a ecu kit with transponder etc but the number on the ecu on mine is 037906024ag and the 1 i found is 037906025a , will this be a prob as the cu is coming off same model, cheers

You Only need a matching key and immo box. You then adapt it with vag com.

I can't work out what you are trying to do though?

hey i dont really know any 1 with vag com tbh, ... basicaaly i have bought a car with no keys , so what im trying to find is a ecu the same as mine with key and transponder

a friend has vag com ive just been told, but he doesnt know how to do that ? any 1 ideas
