The mk5 GTI is just pure class(less).
Ask any non VW fan to identify a new GTI they point out the MK5 GTI.
The Mk6 seems to have no real identity, sorry
There's plenty of car cars faster than a MK5 GTI but not many as class free and posh.

Lol. Almost 3 years to the day since I picked up my Ed 30. I felt like a kid at Xmas. And I still get a buzz both looking at it and driving it. So 100 % agree!

Having owned some great cars , I think it would take the likes of a Ferrari to give me a better buzz than I get rfom the GTI !

I know you're specifically championing the Mk5 but I have to agree with you're overall sentiment. Had mine for 2.5 years now and still loving it. I look forward to every drive in it.

Having said that my GTI is in my garage and I'm enjoying driving around in a 2002 M class Mercedes.
