My speedometer was more accurate and the car drove better when I went from 13 to 195 on 15's. :)

I'll just refurb then and bang them on with some 195's :P

I would.  Speedo is less then 10% out now which is a good thing.

Yeah the wheels are coming on Monday and they need to be cleaned up etc  Then I need to source some rubber aha so could be a while yet :undecided:

Today I actually made some progress!

Finally got round to painting the rub strips which I am pretty happy with how they came out! (sorry for the low quality pictures Blackberry camera  :embarassed:) anyhow, While I was sanding these down I discovered that before they were black they were burgundy!

This took a big portion of my day to be honest because I was doing them one at a time rather than the whole set at once if you get me

Had a slight trauma when I went to get the sandpaper, parked in mcdonalds car park talking to my friend who was getting in the passenger side and I managed to bend my car key so badly in the door lock that I spent 15mintues trying to get it back out again! Then couldn't start the car so had to walk to Halfords and begged them for tools and when I showed them the key they just had a fit on the floor in laughter!

Pictures!:

Pretty impressed with these to be honest and will be doing the clear coat tomorrow then hopefully getting them on the car this week!

My wheels turned up today but I didn't have much time to do anything with them sadly so just dumped them into my bedroom

Wheels look cool! You should polish the lips and colour code the centres :) good work on the side mouldings! How come you are waiting so long before lacquering them?

It started to get dark as I was finishing the painting  So I thought it was best just to wait until tomorrow so I don't go messing it up  I was gonna polish the lips and have white centers though I have considered red. Never polished before but I'm sure there are guides on the internet and I'm going to buy better centre caps for them!

Might have to go off the idea of polishing the rims and painting them white spokes :embarassed: I've spent at least 3 hours on the polished part today sanding it down with different grades and it's just not getting anywhere! and I've got another three to do so I might just paint the lip white and the spokes red!

Any other suggestions?

Put in the man hours and polish them!! It's a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end :) What grade paper are you using to do it?

After reading a few tutorials online I'm using wet and dry 240, 400, 600, 1200 and 2000

Umm, jack your car up and put it in gear so the wheel spins it'll speed the process up. But white lips also work, don't alwayS have to have em polished

Decided to give the polishing another go. Only did the lip and then painted the full center white! I must say, once I polished the lip I was so impressed with how it came out  Looks stunning though the pictures don't give it justice because my camera phone is sh!t Still needs slightly touching up to be honest but here is some progress.

Obviously, the center cap isn't going to be like that. I might change them to some better BBS centers or paint these white and then get red BBS stickers ()

ONLY thing really bothering me is when I polished the lip I was so excited I did it all in one go and then decided to paint the center as well to finish one off! The masking I did to keep the lip free from paint so my hard work wasn't ruined wasn't very tight to the center on the lip if you get me. So that didn't come out great :embarassed: Gonna have to touch that up tomorrow somehow!

What do you think? :nerd:

Good job!!!! Like these wheels alot. White centre caps I reckon with red stickers sounds good. Can you get different centre caps for them (smoother ones), not sure about all them little circles around the edge...  :undecided:
