The muck flying off the roads today I couldn't live without the spray and rear wiper.
..........same here.

+1. I find it an essential feature of the car at this time of year and/or whenever the roads are mucky or wet. It's a safety feature - why would you want to remove it? How do you see out of the back screen when it's completely covered in road spray?

1. My car is fair weather use only and never sees rain
2. I'm used to driving vans with no back window, riding super bikes with limited rearward visibility and enduro bikes with no mirrors at all.
3. I want this for looks not practicality as its something I never use once in 2000+ miles.

I'm just after experience from someone who has actually fitted a bung and if the glue is visable thru the tint.

I have one on my Mk5 Golf track car, same as this one link

As the raise part is a snug fit you can't see the glue, I also ran a small beed of black silicon around the edge to completely seal it

thanks thats the type i was looking at buying. i was just going to use black silicon to bond it in and then run a bead round the outside to really hold it in there.

Not directly focussed on the wiper delete but you can see roughly how it looks: -

While mine is mainly a track car it is road legal and on a recent trip to Spa when it pissed with rain I had no issues with rear visibility, a few coats of rain-x sorted that out

Funny you should say that, it wasn't so long ago that a rear wiper was considered a luxury option on a hatchback... well maybe it was a while ago... !! Where's me pipe and slippers?

Full marks to father in law though, most father in laws I know buy Picassos. Mine has an elderly Polo to do his 5 miles a week.
