i work for audi and we're doing recalls on the newer 1.8t pre 2001,2002ish i think so no agu because the old style coils were decent and reliable its only the newer ones which are sh!t that go and will be done under warrenty...

Where are you based maybe someone close by on here with vagcom sort you out the code, have you pushed the coil packs down tight , they might not have pushed them down enough

Any fault codes? Could be a boost leak.......

Havent got a reader but its still boosting as you can here the blow off

and deffinitely not running on all 4 cyl

The reason i say that is because it only miss fires when under load, if a it is a coil pack it usually does it all the time  :undecided:

Order yourself one of these with a mk4 you need it

Took the car back to them in my lunch and explained
What it was doing and showed them as one minute it was alright then next not atall right! Left  it with them and gave me this courtesy car  1k miles on the clock polo tdi.

Got a ring later this evening saying it was a broken crank/knocking switch which theyl be doing free of charge so hopefully that will sort it

Happy days

Is that because the crank sensor is not an intermittent fault Toph?  :undecided:

it can be, but the car would cut out/refuse to restart. Knock sensor wouldn't make it feel like its running on 3 cylinders either. My guess is either they didn't push the new coil packs down hard enough and one popped up, or they didn't replace all of them (they don't have to as part of the recall) and non-replaced coil blew shortly after.
