This arrived

Needs a bit of work but I knew that and am very happy with her. Will be going into storage until the wedding, otherwise there may not be a wedding! Need to finish the mk4 first.

Needs a bit of a clean.

This will be where the 20v ends up next year!

Love it, pretty obvious though being me but still.  Jealous of what it will he running.

What are your thoughts on the big bumpers, not much of a fan personally?

Lol, yeah it will be good once its all finished!

Well im not allowed to do anything to it yet, got to stay in the garage, don't mind the bumpers to much theres a lot more things to sort out before them but they will have to come off so I can check it over for rust so will see what happens.

I always think these aftermarket big bumpers look too big and cumbersome for the MK1, almost like US Spec bumpers.

I wouldn't worry too much about rust behind the bumpers, although I forget how much the rear covers up the valance.  First places I would check is the rear valance and under the skirts and arches providing you've already checked the floor.

Mind you, we're in for a wait now by the sounds of it as you have enough going on at the moment.

Yes am quite busy at the moment, never ending list of things to do but its all good!

Ive briefly checked the floor and it didn't seem as bad as I expected no gaping holes but until I completely strip the interior I wont know.

Waiting on the council for a garage at the mo so once I get one I can start stripping some bits off and truly  see the extent but on first glance it seems pretty solid..... famous last words!!

Will be a little while before I start that, next on the list hopefully this wkend is starting soild intercooler pipe work and fitting the innovate wideband on the mk4.

Busy day.

Bought a random box of 2.5 inch bends off ebay as I though id make solid intercooler pipe work, reduce the risk of leaks as much as possible.

Striping off the old pipe work

Making it to keep it tucked in as much as possible to reduce the bumper bulge

Tacking together the other side

That side tacked together.

Removing the inlet manifold

Ready to fit this, sorry about some of the pictures

Bought another fuel rail to try and make the fpr as oem as poss. Dont know whether it will work but will soon find out.

Chopped up

Ready for welding

Welded

One tiny bit of weld over ran so need a hack saw blade just to sort that out so the nut will still spin freely, will sort that tomorrow.

Injectors out

New mani in

As far as I got today more tomorrow.

Love this sorta shizzle... Ace work! However, if you plan to drop this lump in the mk1, aren't you going to have to do it all again!?... I know it's probably a little way off but........
