Sidelight Help

Hi ,

Just wondering if anyone has a clue what is going on lol. Decided to get rid of my candle sticks at the front. Ive changed the sidelights for LED ones and i know because of the polarity they have to go in a certain way but when they are in the right way they come on for about 10 secs then turn off !

Any ideas ? Thanks

Yep, the LED lights you have installed do not have an inbuilt resistor. Due to the nature of how LEDs work they draw less current when running. The ECU detects there is less current draw and assumes that the bulb is faulty and turns it off. This is my guess. Where did you get your LEDs from? I bought mine from eBay from this seller - http://myworld.ebay.com/ibid-uk/



They work a treat and are a million times better than the "Phillips BlueVision" ones I had previously upgraded to. LED lights are the way forward.

Only because it had 5 leds on each one so thought they would be better. I seen them ones, so you think i should get them ?

From you describe it sounds like they dont have a resistor or it isnt working properly. They work fine on mine so can only suggest you get them. If you get them and they work I would be having words with the person that sold you the originals and try and get your money back.

Hey mate,

From what you have described I have been through the exact same thing.

I bought a set like yourself without an inbuilt resistor, looked good but went off all but straight away.

I then bought a set with inbuilt resistors from Mr LED's on ebay.

They work and look awesome now and I have bought a full LED conversion through him for in the car and number plates LED's and all work perfectly and look far more modern.

i bought some resistor ones and the work and look awesome. i forked out for bright white h7s and they both look odd now because the leds look amazing, so ive got blue/white and pure white :-s

are sidelights the only replacement LED bulbs you can (legally) put in your car.  Ideally i would want to replace all of :

• dipped beam
• main beam
• front fogs
