I've helped a few people out, mostly in the snow in yorkshire last year armed with a shovel an tow roap, because it's the decent thing to do an yes if my gf an tiddler were stuck broken down in a dangerous place I'd hope someone would help them to a safer place too.

An you're right chuff, others like to watch you struggling with it and get pissed off!

Nice one. :)

I might irritate you lot but if your gf or wife or kids were broken down, I'd be the on stopped trying to help in any way possible.

Have to admit I will drive past if there's a couple of blokes in a van or whatever, I do feel a bit too nervous to do it. Have stopped for blokes in lanes etc tho and last weekend I pushed some lad in a Swift with the Micra to give him a bump start in Maidstone.

There is deffo more of an 'Every man for himself' attitude these days, it seems particuarly bad in the south east, and don't even get me started on London.

i stopped when passing a lady in a mondeo with hazzards on, in a lay bye on the dual carridgeway over summer. she was quite a looker, with two nippers in the back, and was absolutely clueless to the fact that cars need petrol to actually run. drove them all 20 mins down to the petrol station for a geri can and some fuel.

felt very good about myself, and her kids seemed to love my mk2

helped numerous times, though some times the people you try to help get pissed thinking who the hell are you etc

then there's the ones who are after robbing you by faking it, pull a knife or something and drive off with you standing there
