car feels like its going to stall

for arguments sake if i was going round the corner in my village doing about 35 40 in fourth if i dont drop it down it feels like it would stall i always thought dervs had sh!t loads of torque an could handle this sort of driving but am i wrong never had on my petrol at all

Normal for diesel  :wink: You have to shift more as the power band is completely different to a petrol  :smiley:

At that speed you're barely ticking over and you're loading the engine up.  Also its the quickest way to ruining your clutch.

Power band on a derv is from around 1600rpm to 2500rpm depending on the engine model.  The 150 makes its power towards 3000rpm

On mine I can do 30mph in 5th gear but that's barely pulling 1100rpm  :laugh: :laugh:

right i am running a 115 pd but i would have to drop it down to 2 if i was doing 30mph is this about right i thought the talk would be able to handle low down driving like this am i wrong completely then

2nd at 30mph is over 2000rpm iirc

What rpm are you doing in 4th gear @ 35mph?

far too low lol; turbo has just about begun to spool

Like I said your useful power band is from approx 1600rpm to 2500rpm; drop a gear and see if the car picks up better :afro:

It will be more responsive but again it will mainly fatten that power band and also hold the power a little bit longer  :smiley:
