Don't think this is the normal GTi starting issue............
Starts within a second or so when cold/been stood for a bit but takes about 3/4 secs of cranking when its been run/hot. Id say its getting slowly worse over the last few months.
Ive noticed if you quickly hit the starter, ign off and restart it fires up quicker than letting it churn away. Never cuts out or runs badly when hot or cold for that matter, just the starting prob.
Any ideas?
I'm thinking fuel related almost as though its evaporating or airlocking somewhere and it's needing a good squirt from the pump to fire it up. Checked the usual suspect relays and none of them are cold. Could it be the coolant temp sensor (or do I mean ECU temp sensor!)? Is there a way to check it?
Thanks in advance
