Help choosing please!
« on: 21 November 2011, 17:32 »
Right - I have managed to track down two GTD DSG's each with different specs both within a couple of 100 pounds of each other price wise.  Can't choose so need some help.  Both metallic black both 18" alloys.  Car 1. Parking sensors, Sat Nav (without 6CD player) and ACC.  Car 2. Parking sensors, Sat Nav (without 6CD player), sunroof and Luxury Pack.

I felt that the black car with no sunroof (old car had sunroof) felt a little claustrophobic inside, but I guess it's what you get used to.  So it's a case of do I go for ACC or do I go for Sunroof and luxury pack?

Thanks

Sunroof for me. Not only is it a nice addition, it will set it apart from all the others.

I find the ride on 18" wheels perfectly acceptable, and don't see the need for ACC.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Drive them both then decide - if it were a GTI I'd say the ACC is a must but not on a GTD but I've not driven a GTD with 18's.

Both sound nice, I love sunrooooooves

+1 the sunroof is brilliant in the summer miles better than ACC which is just a gimmick, and at 700 quid also its just kept in comfort mode all the the time. Whats the milage on them?

Would like to try them both but one is sitting the other side of the Channel at the moment.  Delivery in 2 weeks time (during which I will have to use other half's MR2   )

My input:

Their both technology that can additionally go wrong! Level Still

Roofs Leak and Adds weight up high. Boo to the sunroof version.

I would say the golf is somewhat cavernous inside anyway so I don't really require a sunroof when Air conditioning works so well.

Rear view mirrors folding and dipping can be useful when parking esp in tight spaces.

And as for ACC well, some  old  people like it and could be deemed a good upgrade.  I've not really found myself wanting it though!

If I had the choice Ann, I'd go for ACC, but as Mr_F says, some *old* people like it , my GTD I feel is just on the edge of uncomfortable - not all the time by any means - but an uneven road surface will have you jiggling around in your seat!

But you gotta go with your requirements/needs
