Hi all,
As some of you know my car (MK3 GTI 8V) hasn't been running to healthy recently, but after a bit of head scratching, autodata reading and some multimeter probing

I've managed to find the fault...temp sender or (ECT) Engione coolant sensor as is says in the auto data book...
Autodata: 80*C - 325ohms
Mine: 80*C - 149ohms

I wanted to know once I've changed sensor do you need to reset the ECU? disconnect the battery? remove Fuse? or is it a simple swap over and let it sort its self out???
