Hi,

Doc,
how are you getting the mic to the overhead console (post pillar) and how are you finding the mic reception when its there?
Is mic in pillar an option? (ala p3eps walkthrough?)

Thx for the headsup on my local friendly VCDS man, mortygt140, he's booked in.

Mine hasn't arrived yet either, bummer, fitting it in the dark then one eve

I had mine fitted into the overhead compartment (thanks to Steve P) andthe reception is absolutely fine, much better than my previous which was fitted externally above the mirror.

Few questions chaps...

1. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to route the big cable under the drivers door-side seat runner (i.e. is it possible without taking the seat out). At the moment the small mic and antenna leads go under okay but the big ones connector block's just too big.

2. I've stuck the antenna (the thing that looks like a spatula) on the A pillar metalwork. Anyone done the same and found it doesn't hold in place? Where have other people stuck theirs?

3. The mic in the overhead console is not too tight a fit. Anyone experience rattles from it?

Ta!

If you feel its too loose, try sticking something else in the holder with it to pad it out.  Saves you worrying about rattles.

I pulled up the sill trim and ran it along close the chair then pushed it under the carpet and fed it up through the whole where the airbag wiring is rather than under the chair rails.
