am i the only aum that dint get it i went it all looked at then they said you dont need them

Mine dont need doing i dont think its a bit spluttery if i dont drive it for a whole day and the engines cold as possible but theyve booked it in no questions asked

I also rung up on behalf of my mate for his lcr to be booked in after one of his went, it turns out that there wasn't a recall on his, they explained that whilst his one was of the older lot but it doesn't necessarily mean there's a recall on his because apparently the problem came on earlier models.

I wonder if Seat will sort out my Leon Cupra then if thats the case with the Mk4 as my coil packs are starting to fail intermittently.

Given them a call and they should be able to tell whether you have any outstanding recalls on your vehicle from the registration/vin
They basically told my mate there wasn't any outstanding so he had to pay for his coilpacks, I bought mine a few months earlier and only had to pay £23 each whereas I believe they are now in excess of £30 each  :grin:

Mines booked in weds for recall mines AUM too. Make sure tell them not roadtest car I know what there like. :-)

I think its worth a shot no matter what engine code.

I literally just went on the vw website, found the nearest 5/6 garages to me, went on contact details and emailed them. Only 2 replied and one replied telling me to book it in, so I think it is a bit hit and miss.

Well thats 4 new coil packs fitted and WOW it drives exactly the same..... :tongue:

Should do really as it was fine before it went in (cant beat freebies though)

MK4 GTi 1.8T, Black magic, stage one Jabba, Forge Split, filter, sportex race pipe, lowered 25mm.
