Amp + Powered Sub?
« on: 27 October 2011, 19:57 »
Got sent an active vibe sub instead of a passive one so I need a bit of advice.....its gonna cost a bomb to post back and it is worth double what I paid so thought I would try and work with it!

Am I going to run into problems in using an amp for my front components and rear 6" fill speakers, and my powered sub split with a Y RCA cable? Im thinking that the headunit will be sending the same audio signals to both sets of cables BUT obviously the sub will be wanting the lower frequencies and the other speakers the higher ones but there wont be a differential in the signals being sent so I wont get the best out of each set of speakers?

Anyone got any ideas as to a way round this or is it more hassle than its worth?

Does the headunit not have 2 rca out connections?

The active sub will surely have crossover settings of it's own so the filtering there should be pretty easy :)
