Nice one thanks again Guy i was looking at the 3m range of ultrafinaIII as my 1st try is going to be with her LO41 non metallic black golf and have been told this is the stuff to use.
Im liking the idea of using a colour system regarding pads and polishes etc.I will look into that.

ultrafina is a great polish

Gaz, cos I used my works rotary which is a Clarke budget one, it only came with a 180mm backing plate. I bought a couple of cheap backing plates (Monza) from ebay which were only a few quid. I got the 3M pads from waxamomo - green/yellow/blue and I think their quite good tbh. I only have Megs ultimate compound, and some DJ LP as I was just using it to cut back my dodgy rattle can spray job on the drivers quarter panel. I just used the DJ Need for speed I have for a little protection as I dont really have any other products. My plan is just the basic Silverline Rotary, and some CG Jetseal 109 for sealant, and Collinite 476s for wax when I get it. Comes in at less than £100 so I'm happy with that. I didnt get the bug to want to do it all over again when I finished though, so dont wanna spend a fortune, you may be different though so get the best you can afford. Resale price if you dont get on with it is actually pretty good as well. I put a post in this section a while back asking about the silverline and from replies, its a decent budget machine.

Only just seen the replies off you Guy/Sean.
Thanks for the write up Sean.
ive narrowed it down to one off this page.http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/cat_68.html
Money isnt too much of an issue as i can add money to it if she doesnt want to spunk £300 on a xmas present lol

Im still swayed by the DAS6 Pro but i dont want to get it and then want a rotary 3 weeks later.

No worries mate. Get whatever you feel is best for you. Like I said though, have a read through the guides on Detailing World, there is one on there for the DA and another for the Rotary. Theres alot of info to take in as its very informative, but still everything is written in Leymans terms so its easy to understand. I must have read through it half a dozen times before I attempted it on mine, and thats on a car with crap bodywork and a dodgy diy spray job! .
If your worried about messing something up with the rotary, go for the DA as you'll be more confident to try it. Like I said as well, resale is pretty good, so you wont loose too much money if you decide to make the switch in the near future.

Ive got a Kestrel DAS-6 DA and i love it, im sure there are better, but you cant go wrong with them for doing the odd job.  Only cost me £65 brand new from ebay aswel then went a got some 3M pads from waxamomo.  Im only in Boston, you can have a spin on mine if you wanna try before you buy!!

Can't really help with which one to choose as it's a personal choice really. Only thing I will say is that if you choose a machine that we sell, give me a shout and i'll sort you a good deal out
