The main advantage is that they don't expand under pressure.
Of course, to many, they look pretty.
As for flowing more - they don't. If the pipes are the same, there is no difference in flow between rubber and Silicone.
In fact, Silicone hoses are a nightmare to get clamped tight as the Silicone is inherently slippery, so they love to blow off under pressure unless you have rolled and to pipes and decent clamps, in many cases adding boost leaks.
On a TIP the only advantage is likely to be a slightly smoother inside and perhaps a slightly bigger diameter in places.
