Im not overly too sure what issue is yet.
When we psuhed the car back tonight in gear, the 4th cylinder filled with oil.....whether this was because engine was in reverse and pushing oil up I dont know but its now a bare block and I have replacement ready to fork lift in tomorrow at some point.
If its a rod, chances are ill just buy a set of uprated ones and set of piston rings and rebuild my engine and swap back over. Otherwise, mate is going to have my 'dead' one to put rods in.
Could well be the torque has killed them, Albeit a bit under 300lb/ft torque, but with a engine on 102k who knows what they like/torque they can cope with.
One thing we did notice was there was a white/clean line around the 4th cylinder exhaust valve on the end and the others were just normally coked up as they do....just this one had a line around outside it....i didnt see it though, just mate explained.
If i was to do it again, id get rpm limited to around 6950/7000 if you want to sound cool with a 7 in your rev limiter. You just need to see my graph to see how much power drops off over 6800rpm. Definately drops from about 190bhp @ 6800rpm to ~140bhp @ 7200rpm, so just shows the sheer lack of power the turbos can give at high RPM!
I have a MBC to cap the peak boost
