« on: 21 October 2011, 17:51 »
great, i am booked in for a service tomorrow at vw and just as i get home my car starts playing up.

its a 2006 golf gti, i parked on my drive and on idle the revs were going low and then rising again, the car seemed a little shaky

had the coil packs replaced 2 months ago and have only had it 3 months

would anybody have an idea what may be the matter plz

well had the rac out to it this moring, he said it could be coil pack problem(had all 4 replaced in august). what are faulty coil pack symptoms???? he also followed done a diagnostic check which showed no fault codes.

he also followed me to vw in doncaster, in which time the car drove fine but still was up and down on idle and seemed hesitant in 1st and 2nd gear. VW said they would not have time to look into that problem in depth but they also doe a diagnostics check as part of the service, which again showed no faults.

could it possibly be a coil pack problem causing the idleing problems???

Defo  faulty PVC.£35 part, and half hour to replace tops.

wow, that sounds like a cheap fix, does it require specialist tools??? i dont have many tools, so might just buy the part and get a garage to put it in if its only 30 mins labour

This pdf is for installing the bsh pcv revamp but it tells you what you need to do to remove your existing pcv.
