depends on budget as theres far better looking cars out there

For value for money nothing comes close, 180bhp 5dr hatch for around £2k against £4k for an Anni.

Interior is not a nice place to be IMO

Well I think it is a lot better inside against Leon and Golfs, very well built and does not feel cheap.

The interiors do feel a bit cheap compared to a similar age Golf but obviously that's deliberate as it can't be better or it defeats the object of a better value car. For a bit posh feeling you'd probably want leather at least.

Sorry but I do not think this is cheap looking, good quality 1/2 leather with the vRS logo embossed (standard on a vRS btw) plus it does not feel cheap, people seem to forget it was an £18k car new.

didn't realise they're that worthless! May be worth buying if your after something cheap.

You really are an idiot at times.

They are not worthless but like most performance cars, insurance, fuel and running costs have hit them.

My price was based around a 2001 like mine your still looking @ £3500 upwards for later / low mileage ones.

Brilliant cars, friend invested in one and doesn't feel cheap and build quality seems up to scratch with any other VAG of the similar age. Drives nice and hasn't had any problems so far :)

Well I have gone from a Golf Mk4 1.8T to a Skoda Fabia vRS and even though it's not the Octavia they are similar inside and in all honesty I wouldn't switch back.

The Skoda to me just seems to have less niggles than Golf's do and they seem like more time was taken to put them together.  Maybe they use cheaper material's but in all honest they look nice enough and seem very durable.  Also I think the display in the Skoda's and the illumination is far superior as it doesn't give me a headache like the clocks in the Golf did.  The VW did seem to have better external quality like the paint seemed harder to chip from Stone chips etc and the car seemed to garner more respect in terms of being let out at junctions, but I get less attempts at traffic light GPX now I have the Skoda which is good as I can drive home of a night in peace!!

I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...
