Could well be. My plan is to get one abd strip it down to shell then start from scratch. May even swap my mk3 for a mk2 if anybody fancied my car.

this is just my list, I'll look over it in a bit as I'm in the middle of cooking dinner atm  Obviously some things are up to you and the code can be any transverse 1.8t (as opposed to longitudinal fitted ones like those in the U.S)

*Cable to hydro clutch parts (master cylinder, slave cylinder, and fluid lines)
*Engine and Gearbox brackets
*Engine and Gearbox mounts
*Engine AUM
*Gearbox 02a
*Intercooler
*Boost pipes
*VR Clutch
*ABF Flywheel
*Downpipe from QPeng (ask Kells about his though, same price and better quality)
*Sports cat (for no messing about at MOT)
*MK4 PAS Pulley
*SAI block off plate
*Forge TIP
*Forge 007 recirculating diverter valve
*modified loom (give rubjonny a pm or I think topher knows someone who can do it as well)
*ECU immob defeated and 2nd lambda mapped out (Topher did this for me along with a stage 1 map)
*16v starter motor

I'll add to it as I remember anything else :)

There will be many things you forget about or wont know you need until you come to it. I started from an 8v GTi, ideally you wanna start with a 16v as a lot of the work will be done for you.

what are you starting with? anything under a GTi would need other stuff as well such as bigger brakes etc

is there a complete list anywere on here?

theirs never gonna be a complete list as it depends on each car/ engine code used etc and how far you wanna go.. those are the basics tho

also factor in the exhaust as you really do need a 2.5" bore system (Jetex) and these are pretty expensive unless you already have it

www.ebay.co.uk :P

if you are gonna be getting parts together over time it could be worth checking every now and then for a 2nd hand system on ebay, wont be rusted as there stainless so imo 2nd hand is just as good as new as long as the tail pipes are not scratched or dented
