What's largest door speakers you can fit without mods? Have seen speaker adapters to fit 8" speakers from audiodirect.

Apparently 8" can fit at front 6" at rear.

well i attempted to change mine today
speakers were riveted in, looked like they had been taken out before, were is the crossover located and how do you wire up components?

they are riveted in as standard
as for crossovers there aren't any except for an inline capacitor on the tweeter

apparently its that inline capacitor that ive broke, as im getting low range through the tweeter, to add that main speakers are a bit sh!te, i want to change them, think the tweeter on the comps is too big though

they always look like they been out before,i was an audio fitter a few years back, every golf is a headache to fit door speakers into, drill the top off the rivet and pop em out then u have holes for the new speakers, your better off sticking with 6 inch comps buy the wooden spacers coz ul find your window hitting the speaker magnet if u dont. the tweeters fit nicely where the original tweeters were (with a lil moddin n force
) its time consuming but worth it mine sounds great
