No points for a smaller plate...  Do yourself a favour if you do it though, make sure your font, spacing etc is legal.  Otherwise you really will be asking for attention.

No, I believe they can do it on a standard reg and you end up with a Q plate.

I believe that is what can happen, when I was fined the 2nd time for german plates he did tell me it was my last chance.

Well he told me they can get the reg removed but as I said I have never confirmed if that is correct, I would guess that they would only do it on private regs but not sure.
