Picked up my alloys from Neil tonight. Thanks Neil - great to meet you and see the GTI in the flesh

Good stuff...

I would have happily had them off him, but a wee change of plan and a set of TD Pro Race 1.2s came up...so that was that!

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

Yep - need to see your car with your new winter boots Neil.

Tyres are going on mine next week and then they'll be kept in the garage waiting for the temp. to drop a little more and then I'll change them over

Winter is chapping at the door. I brought my van out with me on nightshift last night and had to scrape the windows this morning. Meant to be freezing all weekend with temps getting cooler now. I need to get the Vreds shod on the Seattles this week. As it was not far off this time last year when the snow fell. Are we not usually 2-3 weeks behind what the US eastern seaboard get. So snow by 19th November

I was going to put mine on a couple of weekends ago when we had some 3-5degrees C mornings - but then it changed back to 10-14 in the mornings.
The winter compound is supposed to be used at under 8degC - so I'm waiting for it to fall a bit lower.
The way it was today though... that might be next weekend!

Was looking at the tyre on my last car (my girlfriend owns it now). I thought they should last until next summer, but she has been moved at work and is driving a lot more miles. So I was looking at some winter tyres for her. The price has gone up £17 per tyre since I last looked about 6 weeks ago  I checked the tyre size that I bought and same thing - up £68 for a set.

Imagine what is going to happen to the price if we actually get snow. :undecided:
