My mum had a white mk2 escort estate.  Had when I was Cubs/Scouts.  Used it for carrying canoes (on the inside!)

I have fond memories as a teenager of another Mk2 escort.  I used to rally drive it through the forrest (you ain't seen me, right) much rear wheel drive fun!

Then my so called friends set fire to it when I was on holiday.

  My mum had one too but never learnt to drive so my dad used it to carry their band gear around, he loved it.

Yes, one of the plus sides of old Fords that I miss, RWD.

This mk1 should have a RWD conversion!

I hope your so called friends didn't do that on purpose!

This is a pretty cool project, pity there are no more updates :undecided:

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

There is some more info at http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=63527&highlight=estate

Thanks but link already posted on the first page of this thread.. Just a shame it hasn't been updated since last year and loads of pics are missing... Also it's not the actual build thread and still hoping that it will pop up if anyone finds it (if there is one).  Might of never finished it...
