Rattling noise after fitting spacers??
« on: 22 September 2011, 15:01 »
Guys.

Fitted 20mm hubcentric spacers to my rear wheels a few weeks ago and hear a rattling noise everytime i drive the car.

The wheels are standard 16" Montes and i purchased longer bolts so they go through the wheel & spacer into the hub.

Anyone know why im getting the rattling noise or if i've done anything wrong?

Cheers

Maybe the bolts are bottoming out.

Do you mean coming loose?

I've checked them several times after driving & all the bolts are as tight as when i put them on

I don't think so, i've experienced that problem before & there was always 1 nut that was loose after driving, these all stay tight but i still get a rattling noise?

Are they bolt on or bolt through? Rule the bottoming out first. Take the offending wheel off and bolt the spacer to the wheel. See if any thread is poking through. Any thread showing is enough to cause wobble
