i would definately get that checked out mate.. and boot polish will be fine i use a variety of stuff from.. chemical guys trim restorer.. to autosmart highstyle to meguairs trim

Your problem is probably to do with the insufficient number of valves in the cylinder head.

linseed oil ftw, just make sure it has time to dry, cause mine went streaky in the rain :( aha

could the problem be related to the full throttle switch on the throttle body?

I would check the rotor arm, some had a crude built in limiter.

if its got the big gay cut out rotor that wants to leave,  for a non cutout rotor, only thing is you won't have a rev limuiter then
