Being an ipod touch i should think the child uses it more for games than music, could be wrong though.

Feck me, he's 4 and has an Ipod touch....

When I were that age I had a football.

My daughter who just turned 3 plays games on my wife's iPhone and on her Gran's iPad. Touch screen interfaces are so intuitive, she can use the iPad better than her Gran. And by the time their generation is at secondary school, everything will be touchscreen.
Not sure we'd buy her an iPod though.

Doesn't matter how old you are, if you listen to music on headphones it does more damage than listening to a very loud set of speakers. In-ear ones do more damage because they're closer to the ear drum. And you do even more damage if you use them while on the train, bus or tube because you turn it up to overcome the background noise.
