Both id say its been fried so it would be worth finding a better place / heat shield.

Problem being it was like it before i fitted the cone filter.....

I was reading another thead on here wich sounds very similar to my prob, but dont know how to link it, it's called "MK4 1.8gti engine stops after 3 miles" where as mine manages alot more, his turned out to be a intermitant fault with crank sensor

Just rang TPS up and gave them the part number of the part in the pic on page1. Apparently they can no longer supply this part

Any idea's where i can get a genuine new Ignition Amp from? Are the aftermarket ones from euro car parts any good?

tried me car last night and it wasnt misfiring. So im thinking that the amp was getting abit to hot on the way home on sunday, and once the engine was turned off and left for an hour it will give the misfire as still to hot. but left for a day will be fine after cooling down?

I've managed to trace my fault to a relay by the pedals, numbered 100

It keeps cliking on and off when the fault occours, anybody tell me what it's for, as ive changed it and it's still the same
