Seriously, I can't stand Halfords. However, I was in desperate need of an MP3 Cd player for my MK2 so I popped in to see what they had. I came out with the Kenwood KDC-W6027 reduced from £200 to £150. Two pre-outs and wma also. The guy that served me gave me quite a shock as he knew the wiring scenario in the golf to a tee. Went in to have a look at some cheap Pioneer 6x9's 2 days later (I'm in to my classical music you see, quality not dB's). The guy,(different fat bloke) said they were in stock but they were crap, too tinny, no bass. He said I should go for the Vibes at £100. Okay I thought, at which point he turned the HU to max, causing the speakers to distort annoyingly. As everyone else in the shop was now looking in my direction shaking their heads, the so called attendent smiled and nodded in a way that said "oh yeah, now that's loud". Unfortunately, we don't have these left in stock he says, I have them in my car. Funny old thing. Now I may drive a Golf Gti which is classed as a quick car among the kids but I'm 27, ride a ZXR which is capable of 140mph (that's where I get my kicks, not that I ride at 140mph) so the car is used for shopping and getting to Devon where my folks live. It annoys me that wan**s like this guy stereotype me, arghhh. So anyway, I ordered some JBL P-92's off the net reduced from £129.99 to £29.99. Sounds amazing and couldn't find the HU for anything less than £190. So what am I saying here exactly? I'm not sure, I don't care. Halfords is all about who you deal with on the day.
