Another 280mm question (have searched!)
« on: 01 September 2011, 14:22 »
Ok so if I use G60 callipers and carriers, discs and pads will these fit under 15" BBS RA's? Only I've seen conflicting information. If not would spacers solve the situation and could anyone recommend these?

Thanks in advance

If it doesn't fit then yes Spacers would solve the problem depending on how much room you have

Yeah, there's precious little info out there about what will/won't fit over 280mm brakes.  For what it's worth, my 15" RS's needed a 3mm spacer (from Halfords, no less) so the back of the split bolts wouldn't hit the caliper.

I reckon because your wheels won't have the bolts you'll be OK, but the only way to be sure is to give it a try and buy a small spacer if they rub anywhere...

So safety wise good quality spacers aren't an issue?

I've done over 1000 miles on them so far and not a hint of trouble, and my brother wasn't worried about me using them, though I'll likely replace them with something better at some point soon out of principle ;)

My 15" BBS RZ's clear the 280mm calipers fine

I don't think a semi will give the same results

RZ's were found on g60 corrados so will fit.

For the RA's I would personaly have the backs milled and then send them off for refurbishment.

Spacers are safe but anything over 5mm then you will need longer wheel bolts
:)

But would it work with spacers from your experience?
