well i just read through the other thread about mk5/6 owners if they would want to owna 1/2/3 golf or the reason they got a 5/6

and it does seem to literally come out of no where, does appear that athough he thinks rhyso was slating his oppinion he doesnt seem to like anyone elses opinon

My MK4 GTi was the worst Golf i'd ever owned standard, it only got good after Coilovers, ARB's, Uprated Brakes and a remap!

I Do like a nice MK4, but for me its not an outstanding drivers machine

Basic rule of thumb for cars.

If they need to be modified (emphasis on the need) they are sh!t. The mk4 gti falls under this category.

Nope a Type R is very good from the factory. Wanting and needing to modify a car are two different things. The civic is 200bhp, decent weight and handles ok standard.
