The integra is a different animal! The civic type r was hated on launch due to 'comforts and gadgets' even the DC5 is seen as having too much!

Nope a Type R is very good from the factory. Wanting and needing to modify a car are two different things. The civic is 200bhp, decent weight and handles ok standard.

I agree. Love my EP3.

My 03' Civic was fcuking awful.  As for 197bhp, it was at the flywheel, and once the gearbox had chewed 30-35bhp off of it and the complete lack of torque, it was rubbish!

Handling in the wet, don't get me started.

My MK4 GTi was the worst Golf i'd ever owned standard, it only got good after Coilovers, ARB's, Uprated Brakes and a remap!

I Do like a nice MK4, but for me its not an outstanding drivers machine

you only had it for 3 weeks  :lipsrsealed:
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

You must have had a right sh!tter mate. Handling in the wet was down to factory tyres, common problem and i agree!

Torque wasnt an issue, you change gear and keep in the power band and it has one of the best manual gearboxes fitted to a road car, didnt 'chew off' 35bhp from any RR day i went to  :undecided:

It was brand new, and most if not all rolling roads will give you a flywheel reading to make you feel better.
