braided pipe
« on: 23 August 2011, 08:56 »
The braided pipe that is to the right hand side of the inlet manifold and goes under the metal plate in front of the inlet manifold is deteriorating. What is it, and can I replace it with a sillicone pipe instead. Would it be about 3m.

Thanks
Darren

Here is the front where it goes under the inlet manifold

Here is the back where the pipe is badly deteriorating with a screwdriver pointing to it

It is a 2001 AUM. The pipe is quite short and goes into a thin metal tube at the back, while at the front  it goes under the metal plate in front of the inlet manifold.

This may be a better picture of it, and to the left is another braided pipe that is short and goes under the inlet manifold as well

Thanks
Darren

its the pipe that goes into the top of your DV. most people replace it with 2-3mm silicone pipe anyway

Replace both of them while you're there, the one you're talking about goes to the fpr though.....

Can't remember if I used 3 or 4mm though.

Thanks. I tried to follow the thin metal pipe the braided one joins into back to the dv, but it is difficult to do that, but I see what you mean now though.

Sorry but what is the fpr.

Thanks
Darren
