Mayo in the oil cap? No sins of leaks when you move the car?

when you say not overheating, you tested on vagcom or just the needle? The needle will sit on 90 until the temp is like 105-110 i think.

Checked for obvious leaks? Any muck/or white stuff on the oil cap?

I would get the coolant system pressure tested then the head gasket with a block tester.

A 1.8T can use oil if you nail it. But if you're losing coolant and there's no external leaks, then hide your wallet.

No mayo doesn't mean the gasket is ok though.

think i found what the prop is but need to get under car got than oil leak but only when the car has been running it start to leak slowly its coming from between the engine and gearbox, its stops leaking when the car has not been running for abit.

so will it be seal or cracked block i know i need to look but just want ideas before i start looking.

Rear crankshaft oil seal.

Oil is thinner when hot, that'll be why it looks ok when cold.
