An i tell you what pisses me off most when standing on the platform at 7am waiting for the crush....... The lovely nigh on empty first class carriages that roll by as me an the rest of the herd are gearing up for the battle, we can all see 4 quarter full carriages! Just have 2 first class and make 2 more standard

f**k*rs

I always sit in first class! You think a conductor is going to wade through the hundreds of people in the carriage?!

From what I can make out they seem to ONLY check first class

Lazy bastards!
Skoda Octavia VRS DSG (soon!)
Skoda Rapid Spaceback

An a Signum for towing me old caravan!

If they are not on the carriage when you get on, they are not going to come in.

Why don't you sign up for an evening class at your local college.  Then you can get an NUS card and a railcard.

They argue that the fee's are going to be used for upgrades. Last time someone upgraded/repaired any problems I had I swear I paid for it after the work was done?

Least you've got the option of the train. We've got a railway that was closed down many years ago. It's still all there and fully functional as it is occasionally used for freight/pleasure (steam) runs. And yet the government seems to think we all surely must want to be hurled towards London at light speed rather than merely commute (relatively) cleanly and quickly to our own local cities to work.

I just find it infuriating when they try to justify the rise. Whoever has had to commute at rush hour by train can testify that there are never any upgrades and trains are more often than not jam packed. The newer trains have fewer seats so they can pack more people in!

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a backlash against all these increases. Train fares, petrol, gas, electricity, water, food you name it, it has gone up way above inflation in the last couple of years.

Just read in the Standard (it's free and i like doing their Sudoku puzzles) that the train companies were capped in raising their prices by the Retail Price Index rate in July + 1%. Tories have increased it to Retail Price Index + 3% and the government will pocket the extra 2 percent. So it won't actually go towards improving trains at all. It'll just go towards the treasuries coffers.

Another stealth tax from the tories. Geez.
