get one with 0% interest on purchases

http://www.moneyexpert.com/money/credit-solutions/credit-cards/0-purchase-credit-cards/home.aspx

doesn't matter how long thats for , longer the better obviously but don't worry too much cos.....

next you get one with 0% on balance transfers that you will transfer the balance onto before you start paying the horrific interest the original card will have after your initial 0% fee. ( there will be a 3% ish fee to do this)

http://www.moneyexpert.com/money/credit-solutions/credit-cards/0-balance-transfer-credit-cards/home.aspx

keep transfering your balance on new cards til you're all paid up. Just make sure your timing is good and cancel the cards you no longer use.

you have to make sure each card has a different parent company to the previous one , eg MBNA

I borrowed 4k over about 3 years and paid fees of well under 200 quid so virtually interest free.

thats what i do and it works for me just got to keep on top of it

A CC for alloys and coilovers? Surely a fundamental flaw?

i increased my overdradft and bought them with that and bought a camera as well, but it put me right in the sh!t! just about clawing my way out now. seemed like a good idea at the time!

my advice, just save dude!!! as hard as it is better than getting yourself in the sh!t, im talking from experience here

and once you have a CC im sure you will just end up using it again even if you dont think you will temptation is there!

Says the man thinking of getting finance on a rep mobile!

I got myself into terrible money trouble a few years ago because of the "Must have it now" mentality I had in my 20's. It is a slippery slope. The only things that go on my credit card is stuff that I know I can afford to clear at the end of each month.

I am exactly the sort of customer my Bank hates now - no debt whatsoever. And there is no safer way to be with money.  :nerd:

If you can't afford it, you generally don't need it. You might want it, but you don't need it.

Keeping schtum. Mostly.

if you're getting all these pay rises just wait 'til you have the cash in your arse pocket.

I have a credit card and it's for emergencies....(boiler breaks, family emergency) not car mods

I agree, don't bother, cards should be used for emergencies not car mods.  It is a slippery slope that lots of people go down.

I'm intrigued. That's a significant payrise for someone who can't spell or make use of grammer.
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

surely credit on tick right now is a bad idea what with the economy being tits-up just now...or down as the case may be.
doesnt a poor economy lead to higher interest? im not overly sure on these things, never bothered with credit, hence why i dont have a car at the moment, still saving up for a half decent motor that i can buy in cash.

cant really wait as all 4 tyres have maybe 150 miles left in them so tbh they need changing this weekend as i do 30 miles a day. so thats going to be atleast £200  then in a few months once ive got the pay rises ect then ill end up buying alloys so thats just wasting money imo a the tyres wownt go for anywere near that and will hardly be used.

also i just rememberd when i go back to uni i get £265 thats ment to be for books ect. but work pay for that so can spend it on what ever i want so that will be the coilovers paid off. then i just have to wory about the wheels.
